Imec, research and innovation centre in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, and UGent are jointly launching DYAMAND B.V. (Ghent), a spin-off that will initially focus on the smart buildings market. To this end, it has developed "esave", an integrated solution that can help building owners save up to 30% on heating costs.
DYAMAND introduces a middleware platform that enables any application to quickly and easily interact with any other digital device, regardless of the underlying standards, communication protocols or hardware used.
The first integrated solution using the DYAMAND middleware has been named "esave".
esave uses the DYAMAND platform to allow radiotors to interact quickly and easily with a heating app and ditto dashboard. The temperature in each room can be planned and optimised in real time, reducing wastage.
In this way, owners of hotels, office buildings and student dorms, for example, can save up to 30% on heating costs.
